Bow Wow: Meet Bo Emery, our July Pet of the Month!
Right after the Emerys’ son Chris completed active duty in the Marine Corps, he came across a man who was selling bulldogs from the back of his truck on the corner of Kingsley and Blanding in Orange Park. While this is not the traditional way to purchase a pedigreed dog, Bo came complete with papers just the same, and one cute little puppy found a new home. Chris named him Bocephus, which was the nickname given to Hank Williams, Jr. by his dad because he thought he looked like a TV ventriloquist dummy named Bocephus.
Bo’s favorite thing to do is sleep, and he takes many naps throughout the day. He loves to swim and will jump into a lake or pool whenever he has the chance. He takes a walk in the morning, a golf cart ride in the afternoon, and loves riding in the car.
Like many dogs, summer storms and the “thunder Monster” are Bo’s least favorite things in life, and when there is bad weather you will find Bo hiding in the shower.
Although he is 108 lbs. he is referred to by neighbors as the “gentle giant”. He is a very gentle dog who loves children and other pets.
Bo is loving life with family and friends in Orange Park, and like these long summer days, it looks like Bo’s future is so bright he needs to wear shades!
